Norwegian PolitiCß. Oslo. January 17th. —The new Storting elected M. Nambro (Conservative) as President, and M. Hornsrud (Labour) Vice-President. Three ballots were necessary. International Ex-servicemen's Federation. Paris, January 17th—At the reception to the executive of the International Ex-servicemen's Federation, the president of the German section, representing 500,000 members, assured M. Briand that he could rely on 6,000,000 membeif to support the ideal of an International Entente. Diplomatic Appointments. London, January 17. —The new French Ambassador, Baron de Beaumarchais, has arrived in Borne, and the new Russian Ambassador, M. Dovgalevslcy, has arrived in Paris. Heavy Bains in Victoria and N.S.W. Sydney, January 18.—Heavy rain benefited the south-western districts of New South Wales and the whole of Victoria, where, in many districts, over five inches fell during the night, threatening serious floods.
