SATURDAY NIGHT'S SPORTS
On Saturday night at English Park Stadium, a 1 three distance motor-paced race will take place between W. T. Weir and A. C. . Bitcliie. Both riders will start off tho same mark ard the distances will be as follows; —First distance, threo miles; second distance, seven miles, and tho final distance five miles. Both riders aro adepts at pace following and a brilliant exhibition is assured. Another feature of Saturday's programmo *. will bo a three distance sprint match race between C. Bright and J. R. I'Anson, tho ex-amateur sprinter. The distances for .this event will I 'be., a half-mile paced, a> quarter-mile unpased, and a final distance of half a mile paced _. As these riders 'start, off the Bame mark in handicap events the. match race should prove a close and interesting one Other events on tho piogramme .-aro a joy. cycle • race for boys of ten years and under, a five miles tandem paced ecratch lace,. and several handicap cycling and' running events. The sports will commence at eight o'clock, and special trams will leave Cathedral' Square at frequent intervals for' English Park.
