NEW ZEALAND V. THE REST. (PiUSS ASSOCIATION TEUEGRAJt.) "WELLINGTON, November 9. L. C. Eastman, the Otago coach, who recently played for Essex, plays for the Rest of New Zealand. D. 0. Nixou (Canterbury) is not available. R. 0. Talbot (Canterbury) fills one vacancy. W. Cunningham does not play for The Rest against New Zealand. He will return to Christchurch this evening.

SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of delegates of the Suburban Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr H. W. Rogers presiding over a fair attendance. The Victory Park Board's offer of a wicket on the south ground for the Sub-Asso-ciation match against Ellesmerc on November 16th and 17th was accepted. The Canterbury Cricket Association wrote advising of the entry of the Amuri Association in the Sub-Association shield matches. The chairman was authorised to wait upon the Reserves Committee of the City Council for the purpose of obtaining improvements in the playing areas in the City reserves. On the motion of Mr E. King it was decided to postpone all competition matches on November 19th, on account of the match between the touring team v. the Rest of New Zealand. Owing to the withdrawal of the Beckenham C team it has been found necessary to redraw the third grade competition, and on the motion of the chairman it was decided to cancel the matches already played in that grade and commence the competition afresh on Saturday next. The senior selectors submitted the following team to play against Ellesmere on November 16th and 17th, at Lancaster Park, commencing at 3 0.30 a.m.: —J. Clarkson and E. Cummins (Beckenham), R. Langford and 11. Thompson (Sunnyside), H Mills (Woolston), E Watt, P. Peacock, J. Taylor, and J. Gray (W.M.C.). K. Chinnery (Council), and J. Cadenhead (Shirley). Reserves: S, Besley (Beckenham), J Worrall (Woolston), and W. Cowlin (Greens). Every player is requested to attend practice at Sydenham Park at 5 p.m. to-day and on Tuesday next. Anv player not- available is requested to notify the selectors or Association secretary at once. .Saturday's Matches. Following are the fixtures for Saturday next: — Senior Grade—Council v. A match is to be played at Lancaster Park on Wednesday and Thursday, November 16th and 17th, between a team representing the Ellesmere Cricket Sub-Association and the City and Suburban team.
