SHIPPING NOTES. To-morrow (Show Day) will be observed as a close holiday on the waterfront. The only departure from the port will be the ferry steamer. The Breeze is due to-day from the norm, and is to sail this afternoon for Dunedin. The Calm is expected this morning from Wellington. She should get away this evening for Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Tongariro is to sail to-day for Dunedin to continue discharge of her Liverpool cargo. The steamer Sithonia sailed from Auckland at 4 p.m. on Tuesday for Lyttelton. She is due to-morrow, and will discharge portion of her cargo of sulphur. The New Zealand Shipping Company s liner Remucra is to sail on Saturday for Timaru to continue discharge of her London cargo. , Thw Tees is due at Lyttelton late to-night or early to-morrow morning from the llhathams. She is to load here on Saturday for Wellington. Westport, and Greymouth. The Opihi is expected here on Sunday from Westport with coal. 'The Waipiata is to arrive nt Lyttelton on Sunday from Auckland and Wellington. She is to sail on Monday for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru.

The Kanna is expected to arrive at Lyttelton on Sunday from Walpole Island and Noumea with a cargo of guano. On completion of discharge she will sail for Timaru.

The Kekerangu should arrive here on Tuesday from Edithburg and Adelaide, via Dunedin. She sails later for Wellington, Castlecliff (Wanganui), New Plymouth, Portland, and Auckland. The Corinnn is now due from the south on Tuesday. She loads for Wellington and New Plymouth.

The Kair3nga 'is expected here on December 4th from Hobart. via Dunedin. She sails from here for Wellington. The Storm is to load here on Saturday for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Progress should arrive here on Wednesday next from the south to load for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Orepuki is timed to load at Lyttelton on Monday for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth.

The Kotiti is to sail on Saturday for Kaikoura. The C. and D. liner Port Caroline is to sail from London on the 30th inst. for Lyttelton direct. She is due here on January 9th, and will proceed later to Fort Chalmers and Bluff.

The Vest Elcajon is to leave Los Angeles on December 10th for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, 3nd Lyttelton. She is due at Auckland on January 14th.

The Port Hardy, en route from London, has reported by radio that she expects to arrive at Auckland this afternoon.

The Totara, duo on Saturday from Timaru, loads for Wellington and Nelson. Tlia master of the Norwegian whaling factory ship C. A. Larsen has reported by radio tha_t he expects to arrive at Port Chalmers this morning from Norway. Cable advice has been received staling that, the Mahia, with maize from South Africa, left Townsville on Saturday afternoon for Auckland, where she is due on Saturday. The Queen Eleanor, en route from Montreal and Newport News to New' Zealand, has reported by radio that she will arrive •at Auckland this morning. Cabled advice has been received that the Port Hunter, which Failed from Auckland on September 22nd, and the Port Caroline, which left Wellington on September. 26th, arrived at London on November 6th and sth respectively. The Corinthie, which is at present discharging and loading at Auckland, is to sail today for Gisborne and Wellington to take in further oargn. She is due at Wellington to-day, and then goes on to Napier to complete loading. , She is due back at Wellington again on November 27th to embark passengers, and sails the same day for Southampton and London. A field day of more than usual interest for beekeepers will take place under the auspices of the Canterbury Beekeeper's Association at Tai Tapu on Saturday. It will take the form of a demonstration in the afternoon at Mr Pearson's apiary, in the domain, and a lecture illustrated by cinematograph in the Tai Tapu hall in the evening. Mr E. A. Earp, Senior Apiary Instructor, and Mr W. S. Pender, of "Sew South Wales, will be the demonstrators and lecturers.
