CENSUS RETURNS. (by cable—pbess association— copyright.) (AUBTBALIAN AND K.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 7th, 9.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 6The Census Bureau announces 1,020,000 marriages in the' United States in 1926 and 180,868 divorces. The increase of marriages over 1925 was. 13,745, or 1.2 per cent. The increase of divorces' was 5419, or 3.1 per cent. There were 3823 marriages annulled in 1926. The relative increase in the number of marriages in 1926 over 1925 was .3 per cent, less than the estimated increase in population, which was 1.15 per cent. The estimated population of the United States on July Ist, 1926, was 117,136,000,. as compared with 115,378,000 in 1925.
