CONCERT AT RICCARTON.
A most successful concert was held in the Riccarton Town Hall to raise funds for St. James's Church. Great credit is due to the St. James's Boys' Guild, who worked so. hard to make the evening a success. The programme, which was arranged by Mrs E. Calson, wag much appreciated by the large audience. During the evening the Eev. Mr Wright, in a short speech, expressed his gratitude to those who had so willingly assisted. The programme included: A fencing display by the Misses Honor Ellis, Aileen Morrison, Enid Jakins, and P. Brass (members of Mr Mortimer Thatcher's Canterbury College fencing class); dances, Misses Jean Newsome, Bona Jones, Gwen Smith, Daphne Buchanan, Joan Fleming, Masters Freddie Jones, and Pat McCormack (pupils of Miss Iris Edmonds); songs, Misses D. Lawrence, P Essen, D. Cotton (pupils of Madam Ottlee), Iris Edmonds, Wright (2), Mr D. MaeKintosh; piano solos, Misses I. Lassen, Peters; recitations, Miss Myra Edwards; accompanists, Misses Peters and I. Lassen.
