"UP IN MABEL'S ROOM"

THE YEAR'S COMEDY DELIGHT.

Husbands should not look through keyholes. That is the royal prerogative of woman. If they do, the men, that is, they succeed in looking merely very foolish, for they usually encounter another eye, blue, angry, "I thought so" expression in it; she was doing it too. And if Mabel's husband had not been so. very curious, there doubtless would not Ijave been the hilarious differences there were, and this story, "Up in Mabel's Room," would never have come to the screen, which would have been most lamentable. This Master picture opens at the Grand Theatre next Monday, and with Marie Prevost and Harrison Ford in the leading roles, or in the leading rooms, it is much the same, the picture resolves itself into the most sophisticated and delicately snappy comedy of the year, or any other year. It is a picture to make any audience forget its collective doctor, landlord, and its rates, "and oh, that such should be"; all the ordinary troubles of humanity fade into the nebulous mists of forgotten things in the face of this screaming and really very smart and clever marital comedy, with Miss Prevost revealed as the most understanding and brilliant comedienne on the screen The story is frankly frivolous, and faintly farcical, but the amazing thing about it all is that it is not at all improbable, because even the best-regu-lated husband will sometmes be consumed by. curiosity, and thie most adorable wife will persist in being most unreasonable, when a fellow didn't mean anything by it at all, dash it It is very human for all its breakneck speed, of swift changes from one gasping situation to another, of perverted romance and hearty, wholesome thrills, but it is« for its original and exhilarating humour, and its almost continuous comedy, that it will be remembered. The curiosity ■ of Mabel's husband was, after all, a secondary consideration in the mix-up; it was Mabel's lingerie, and that such_ a comedy-drama could result from so innocent a source speaks volumes for the skill and ingenuity of the producers. Supporting Miss Prevost and Harrison Ford are Phyllis Haver, Sylvia Breamer, and Arthur Hoyt. The box plans open at The Bristol Piano Company on Thursday morning.
