A WEEKLY BUDGET FOR ALL.
Socially the greatest event of tho racing season in England is "Royal Ascot," the one gathering above all others which would be lamentably incomplete without the presence of tho Sovereign. This year the Meeting at Ascot was a particularly successful one, and the famous racecourse was the scene of a wonderful display of fashions. Photographs received by the latest mail convey a most vivid impression of the gorgeous pageantry at Ascot, as readers of "The Weekly Press" will realise when they look at the illustrations tomorrow. Ladies will find the display of fashions exceedingly charming, and it is made the more interesting through the reproduction of a view taken at Ascot twenty-two years ago. The contrast in dress is mcst effective. Other overseas pictures of interesting events have also beer, obtained for this number of "The Weekly Press/ two that are especially striking showing the ex-German cruiser Moltke as she was being saked at Scapa, Flow after lying under the water for eight years. Scenes from the Chnstchurch railway station fill a couple oi pagespictures of the type that the popular familv magazine has been reproducing so successfully in recent weeks. There is no lack of these "human interest features this week, and pleasing variety is lent to the production by the inclusion of a page of views from the Gn.-at Barrier, specially taken for "The Weekly Press" by one of the Dominion's foremost photographers*. Both in the illustrations and the letterpress the aim of the who:e publication is to satisfy the de'ire of thousands of New Zoalanders for a real magazine for the home; —a 'definitely New Zealand production thnt can entertain and inform its -renders. "The Weekly Press" will be on sale everywhere to-morrow.
