SELWYN PLANTATIONS.

MEETING OF BOARD. A meeting of the Selwyn Plantation Board was held in tho Chamber ef Commerce Library yesterday morning. Present were— Messrs W. Stewart (in the chair), R> Nairn, H. A. Millar, G Hall, C. H. Adams, B. M. Morten, A. E. Langdale-Hunt, C. Wolfe, W. P. Spencer, G. Scott, and J. Storry. The Superintendent (Mr B. G. Robinson) reported that the weather had been very favourable for timber-felling, and the four gangs of woodcutters were making reason- j ably good progress at the clearance works. At Turnbull's plantation some 45 cords of ! gum were cut and stacked, while 38 cords of seasoned wood were delvered to the city. The clearance of gums and wattle on Sandy Knolls reserve was well advanced, and all trees were being converted into fencing material and firewood. A fairly brisk demand for fencing stakes was being received, and these -were being split from the Darfield plantation.
