BURWOOD MURDER.
"EVERYTHING POSSIBLE IS BEING DONE."
[THE PRESS Special Service.]
WELLINGTON, July 19,
"Everything humanly possible is being done to detect the author of the Burwood crime," said the Minister for Justice (Mr Eolleston) in the House of Representatives to-day, when replying to a proposition that the reward of £250 for information leading to the conviction of the murderer should be increased.
It was stated by the questioner (Mr Buddo) that the non-discovery of the offender had caused considerable anxiety in the district. The position had reached the stalemate stage, and residents were anxious that something special should be done.
The Minister replied that an- indication that a reward was to be offered had been published not more than ten days ago, and that the question raised by Mr Buddo would receive consideration. He could add nothing further to what he had previously said on the matter. .
