SHIPPING NOTES. The Hotmdale is duo this morning from Timaru, and sails this afternoon with cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The Storm, due this morning from Dunedin and Timaru, loads here for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Kauri is to arrive 'at Lyttelton tomorrow from Newcastle with coal. ' The Totara is expected to-morrow from New Plymouth and Wellington, and loads j for New Plymouth. She sails via Wellington. The Calm is timed to load here to-morrow, ] and the Breeze on Saturday, for Wellington and Wanganui. The Progress should arrive here on Friday from the south. She takes Jn cargo for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Opihi, due on Sunday from Dunedin and Timaru, loads here on Monday for Nelson, New Plymouth,, and Westport. Tho Wingatui is due back from Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru on Friday, and loads here for Auckland. The Kahika is due to-day from westport with coal. TAHITI FROM SYDNEY.

The Tahiti arrived at Wellington early on Monday morning from Sydney, and was berthed at 9 o'clock. The Canadian Seigneur is expected here from Lyttelton on July 27th to discharge motor-cars and general cargo from Canada and load general cargo before proceeding to Dunedin. The Waikouaiti is due here from Dunedin on July 28th to load general cargo for Lyttelton and Sydney. The Katoa is scheduled to arrive here from Dunedin on July 28th, and will sail for Lyttelton the same dav.

! The most northern wireless station in I the world has been erected on Cape Desire, jutting into the Arctic zone west of Archangel. It will be used to keep in touch with explorers entering the Arctic by airship and aeroplane.
