Signor Labriola, who recently made a dramatic escape from Italy, in an interview told an amazing story of Fascist outrages. _ . Signor Labriola was onc © Minister for Labour and was a colleague ot Signor Mussolini, but did not approve of recent developments in the 1 ascist He says that the day after the alleged attempt ' on the life of Signor Mussolini at Bologna, the door of his flat was battered in by Black-Shirts. Signor Labriola and his son, aged sixteen, were each put in a corner of the room and covered by revolvers and that they would be shot if they moved. The Black-Shirts then smashed the furniture and china, ripped pictures to shreds, and tore up books. Si<rnor Labriola declares that over 1000 houses were similarly treated. Signor Mussolini refused Signor Labriola a passport, but he escaped. He says a man has only two courses open to him in Italy to-day—to become a Fascist or go to prison.
