METHODIST CHURCH.
ST. ALBANS CIRCUIT. • The quarterly meeting of the St. Albans Circuit of the -Methodist Church was held on Monday, and was presided over by the Rev. L. B. Is'eale. There was a good attendance of officials. Mr J. Hayman, a new member'of the Board,, was heartily welcomed. The number of Church .members was reported -as 318, with 73 juniors. Income amounted to' £268 10s 6d, which permitted. £i%. Is 6d-. to ! be allocated to tho Rugby street Trust, and £23 la 8d to the iSdgeware • road.; Special collections were sanctioned on behalf of the Young People's Department,. Rugby street Church anniversary, and Home .Mission Fund. Reports indicated i gratifying attendances at the Bryn•dwr Sunday School, Young Worshippers' League, and Boy Scouts. It was resolved that » weekly service beheld atßryndwr inj stead .of fortnightly. Mr Kenneth Robinson wail accepted; as a lay preacher on trial. The chairman stated that he was. forming a class for theologieal < study, and the Rev. S. J. Wen-en intimated that a Band of Hope was in process of "formation at Wesley Church. RICCARTON CIRCUIT. : The quarterly. meeting of ' the officials of the- Riccarton Methodist Circuit was held at Upper. Riccarton Church on Tuesday evening. The Rev. B. J. James s presided, and , there* was -a.'good - attendance' of. repreeexitativca of.the three Churches. Letters of con- i dolcnce will be sent to Mesdamea Sutherland and Grundy in their recent- bereavements; also letters of sympathy with several members who are ill. The balance-sheet submitted by: the circuit stewards, Messrs E. K. Caygill and P. G.. Clements, was considered satisfactory, showing an income of £lOl, against expenditure. The minister gave a detailed review of the work in the Beveral churches. Special collections were authorised for : the • Young People's Department, the- Home Mission Department, and a Church. anniversary at Clarence road.
