Discussing the limitation of Air , Forces, the Preparatory Disarmament Commission vie .red favou: a.l>ly the i>w<v dish delegates' proposal that tiicra should be a limitation of Loth horsepower and the number of machines, the purpose of tho proposal being to avoid encouraging countries to build larfn> bombers in order to mako up the limit of tho number of aeroplanes and ivlsr* to avoid the encouragement of a lnrg» number of aeroplanes by reducing horsepower. Two tables will bo drawn up indicating the maximum horsepower and tha aircraft at the disposal of each State, The United States, Belgian, and German delegates approved of the proposal, and Lord Cecil accepted with tha reservation that the British Government gave its endorsement. It was felt countries should only commit themselves to an aviation agreement for fiv® yenrs in view of the changes aud developments in this branch of defence.
