. « THIS WEEK'S ISSUE. TOPICAL PICTURES AND GOOD READING. Published this morning "The Weekly Press" has its usual wide range of topical pictures. Outstanding among these are scenes from the Military Pageant, which has created so much interest | locally. Some very fine views of Alpine scenery, taken from Mt. Kolleston, are another attraction, one in particular being a remarkable panorama. Prom abroad' have come pictorial sidelights on the Chinese situation, and some vivid glimpses of the recent revolt in Portugal. The departure of the New Zealand cricketers for England has not been neglected, and there are some effective pictures of the Waimakariri river in flood last week. The literary side of the paper is up to its usual standard with short stories by New Zealand writers, and special articles of general interest. Wide and varied reading has been prepared, and altogether, with pictures and letterpress, this week's issue will be found more than usually interesting by readers, old and new.
