Mr Frank Hodges, speaking from the pulpit of Coventry Cathedral, addressed 2000 men. including many miners. He said he rejected the idea that industrial strife was inevitable. i'hur far onlv the basis "t organisation hac been the iielicf that they must be prepared for war in industrial relationships. Now men had become more analytical a;id some had come to the conclusion that war was barbaric and strife futile. The desire for industrial peace must 'v.- Translated into industrial practice. The world was crying out for effective organisation and the plan must bo based on the ethic?! precepts of Christ Himself. Strife should l»e the last thought to come to men's minds, not the first.
