INTERVENTION OF BRITAIN. HOSTILITY IN AMERICAN SENATE. (BT CABLE— TRESS ASSOCIATION'— COrrfilGHT.) AND X.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION J (Received March 10th. 7.45 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 9. The evidence taken at an executive session of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has just been disclosed. It reveals that Senator Reed took strong exception to Britain's dispatch of a cruiser to Nicaragua. He said, l 'l should very much dislike to 6ee Britain send a warship to Nicaragua, particularly with the consent of this Government. If we consent and trouble arises, the first thing we know will be that Britain is in there with us and we have recognised her right to bo there. If we do not say to her, 'Keep out,' we will have another embarrassing situation to put up with." Various other members then severely criticised American policy in Nicaragua.
