ANTHONY WILDING SHIELD.
TO THE iniTOR OP THE THESS. Sir,—-A letter appeared in Friday's Press signed "A Player," who tries to suggest who should represent Canterbury against Wellington. I should like to inform "A Player"' that tho delegates representing all affiliated clubs at a meeting of tho Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association annually elect officers to carry out the duties of match selectors, and these gentlemen arc very capable of carrying out this ■work without "A Player's" generous suggestions. If at any time "A Player" wishes to become an actiye officer on the Selection Committee, let him roll up as a delogate for a club, show his keenness in the Association, and then, no doubt, the delegates will appreciate his services and may eledfc him to a position' where he may voice his opinion on the selection. But, in the meantime, let "A Player" play tho game and lio low, just think his own views and abide by the decision of tliei Official Committee, which has been elected as selectors by representatives of over 3000 tennis players. Therefore have confidence in them.—Yours etc.. COUNTRY DELEGATE.
