SOUTH AFRICA WINS KING'S TROPHY. (BT CABLl—rsiss ABBOCIATIOH—COPYEIGHT.) (AUSTBAI.IAB AKD s.z. cablx association.) (Received February 13th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 12. The results of the shooting in connexion with the Imperial Shields competition for 1926 shows that nearly 25,000 boys competed for tho King's trophy, which was won by South Africa with an average of 79 points out of a possible 100. Canada was second with ✓B, Australia third with 71, Britain fourth with 70.6, and New Zealand fifth with 70.3. Canada won 92 silver and bronze medals for individual scores of 97 and over. Australia 39, South Africa 22, Britain 12, India 6, and New Zealand 3. The Senior Imperial Challenge Shield for the best senior school in the Empire was won by the ! Australian Naval Reserve, of Edgecliffe, New South Wales, with an average of 96.4. Earl Jellicoe's sword for the best small senior school in the Empire was won by the Australian Naval Reserve, of Fremantle. The Junior Imperial Challenge Shield for tho best junior school in the Empire was won by the Lawrenco Military School cadets, Sanawar, India. _ The King has sent a letter to the National Rifle Association expressing much satisfaction with the result of tho competition for his Majesty's trophy. He considers that tho excellent scores from all parts of the Empire reflect the greatest credit on the boys and their instructors.
