It. was recognised that in all the preliminary organisation work of the College, the advice and assistance o| Professors I'eren and Riddet would be essential, and so it was resolved to ask \ ictorin and Auckland University Colleges to allow this Council the use of the services of Professors Pereu and Riddet for 10l'7 lor adxice and collaboration in matters nlleetiug the general layout and completion of such establishment a- mav be agreed on by the Council. If the Cullege.-, agree to the foregoing then thi.s Council is prepared to consider applications from Victoria I nivorsitv College and Auckland University College to teach students at Palmerston North.

It was decided that the chairman should confer with the Minister for Agriculture with a view to arranging conferences between the Council, the Minister, and the Board of Governors of Lincoln College in order to avoid unnecessary delay in' organising work. "It was resolved that in order to Drovide for the early establishment of instructional experimental and research work in the principles and practice of dairying (including dairy farming and dairy manufactures in connexion with the College, Professors Peren. and Riddet be requested to formulate and sifbmit to the Council at its next meeting it full scheme providing for: (a) The acquiring of tub necessary livestock; (b) The erection and equipment on the most modern lines of ft dairy factory comprising both butter and cheese plants and other necessary buildings ; (e) The provision of a complete laboratory and experimental station fully staffed, together with an estimate of capital and annual running costs; and (d) That in the preparation of the foregoing report the Professors be empowered to confer with Mr Singleton, of the Dairy Division of the Agricultural Department and tho Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

Wt was also decided that Professors Peren and Riddet be further requested to draw up for the consideration of tho Council a detailed report on the courses of instruction to be carried out at the college.

"Tlir chairman was authorised to make temporary arrangements for tho services of a secretary for, the next meeting and that in the meantime he should arrange, if possible, for any secretarial or administrative work to ho carried out in the office of the Auckland University College. In order to make sure that all preliminary expenditure might lit in with the ultimate development of the college it was decided to ask Mr Roy Lippicott,,architect of Auckland University College, to prepare, in consultation with Professors Peren and ■Riddet, with a representative of the Research Board and with officers of the Agricultural Department, a lay-out plan for a comprehensive scheme of buildings and grounds for the gradual development of tho Agricultural College on the Palmerston North site, such plan to be available for the consideration of the Council nt its next meeting."
