BOOKMAKERS FINED.
PENALTIES AT DUNEDIN. [THE FBESB Special Service.] DUNEDIN, February 13. Gustave Johnson was fined £IOO in the Police Court this morning for carrying on the business of a bookmaker. He had been fined £SO previously and the Magistrate said he must be treated as a persistent offender. John Erskine, described as a commission agent, was fined £3O. It was stated that he had handled £2OOO in cheques from one investor in nine months.
