SANDERS CUP.
COMPETITORS ARRIVE. THE AUCKLAND CREW. The Auckland crews for the Sanders Cup a&d Cornwell .Cup contests arrived by yesterday morning's ferry steamer, the Sanders Cup crew is stnying at the British Hotel, Lyttelton, and is as follows:—Messrs A. E. Matthews (skipper), E. Matthews, S. Chatfleld, H. Brown, and T. Burke. Mrs A. Matthews is also with the party. The Cornwell Cup crew is I. McMaßter and A. D. McGregor. Cornwall Cup Crews Billeted. The boys competing in the Cornwell Cup have been billeted with private residents in Lyttelton as follows: Southland, Mr and Mrs J. H. Collins; Otago, Mr and Mrs T. Lester (2) and Mr and Mrs G. Brassel (1); Auckland, Mr and Mrs J. Norris. The Wellington and Hawke's Bay Cornwell Cup boys will arrive this morning, and will stay with Mrs J. \V\ Smith and Mrs C. A. Henderson respectively. To-day's Arrivals. The arrivals to-day will include tlio two Wellington crews and the Cornwell Cup crew from Hawke's Bay, with delegates and visitors from Auckland, Wellington, Xapier, and Dunedin, Crews Busy. Yesterday morning the crews were all busy giving the boats u final clean »p. All the boats have arrived except Betty and Peggy. Peggy is arriving by this morning's terry, and Betty will probably arrive to-day also. Avalon, Murihiku, and Winfred, accompanied by some ol' the local 14 footers, were out for some time yesterday afternoon. There was a fresh easterly breeze, with little sea. The Cornwell Cup boys w-re also out. Headquarter Office Opened. A Headquarters Office and Meeting Room for the Yachting Association has been opened in Oxford street, Lyttelton, next to J. T. Norton's, Ltd. All meetings will be held there. To-day's Programme. The following will be today's programme:—Conference, Cornwell Cup delegates, this afternoon; civic reception at Christchurch 7.3U p.m.; civic reception :it Lyttelton. 5.30 p.m.; Yachting Association conference to follow. Dunodln Launch BreaKs Down. The Dunedin launch Marata, which has been expected at Lyttelton from the southern port during the past two days, broke down when between Oamaru and Tiniaru, through the generator failing. The launch , put back to Oamaru. runniug on the starting battery, and the Marata was left there for repairs. The skipper, Mr .H. Riddell. and his party, arrived at Lyttelton by train last night.
