HALSWELL. A; ;he last meeting of the Harwell County Council there were present: l'r.«. K. rxercon K. M. Morten. ,1. Sharp, ,1. Doyle. H. Kaglfsome. and W. Wiljoti. Following a request from the Health Inspector, it was agreed to serve notire on the owner of a dwelling eallinc nroti him lo provide an adequate supply of fresh water for the occupants. A letter from the Medical OAicer <■! Health, asking that the Council adopt the various health regulation* to that they hecomo permanent by-laws, was held over for further enquiries. The Christchurch City Council rrotc for particulars of tke reserves held by the Council that might'be suitable for tree planting. It was resolved to reply that all such reserves were planted. It was decided to ask the City Council on what terms it would undertake tho tar sealing of a portion of Lincoln road near the tram terminus. The Native Trustee wrote advising that the debentures in connexion with the Council's electric lighting loan had been sc!d to the State Kire Off.ce. The clerk reported that .'«me person had very much disfigured a stone bridge on the main road by painting a motor car advertisement on it. It was agreed that provided sufficient evidence could he obtained, a prosecution be instituted.
