Id THE t.DITOIt OF THE I'HESS. .Sir,—Having formerly been a member of the New Zealand Cricket Council, I have been watching our cricket this .season with keen interest, and am very pleased with the excellent team selected. All the same, Tam sorry it includes one professional recently imported from Kngland, as I think the Council would have been wiser to send amateurs only and to plav matches against amateurs only. However, lam coulident that our men will give a very good account of themselves, and so certain do I feel that the tour will bo an unqualified success, that I have practically decided lo double iny original holding of shares in New Zealand Cricket, Ltd., since, if all goes well, J think we should get a dividend of between ten and twenty per cent. —Yours, etc., JOHN OWEN JAM L; SOX.
