LATE LADY WARD.
FUNERAL SERVICE AT WELLINGTON. [THE PBE33 Speeltl Setrlcf.] WELLINGTON, February 10. The funeral of the late Lady Ward took place to-d:iy, tlie cortege leaving the family resilience at Herctaunga in the afternoon for tlie southern ferry boat. A short service was conducted at the liouso by the Hcv. G. V. Kendrick, Anglican minister at Upper JUutt, prior to the funerrl leaving for Wellington. Besides the family many friends were present at the service. The Cabinet was represented by the Hon. Mr Bollard, .Minister for Internal Affairs. ' " The cortege proceeded to Wellington, where it joined by leading citizens, and representatives of Government Departments and business institutions. The chief mourners were Sir Joseph Ward and his sons, Vincent and Pat; his daughter, Mrs B. B._ Wood, and his daughter-in-law, Mrs Vincent Ward. Amongst tho messages of sympathy received by Sir Joseph Ward and family were telegrams from the GovernorGenera), Sir Charles Fergusson, the Prime Minister, Mr Coates, the Act-ing-Prime Minister, the H°n. Mr Downio Stewart, Cabinet Ministers, leader of the Opposition, and the leader of the Nationalist Party, and cablegrams from overseas as far as China and Japan.
