ARSENIC ON APPLES.

The first prosecution for arsenic on apples in the current American season occurred at Brentford. "Last year's publicity should hare induced growers to minimise spraying, but apparently it has not done so," said the Crown Prosecutor. The fruit contained .05 grains of arsenic and .50 grains of lend to the pound. The greengrocer concerned was fined £l.
