MERRETT TRIAL.
MURDER CHARGE FAILS. (BT CABLE—FBESS ASSOCIATION—COMMOHT.) (AUBTB.AUAX AND H.S. CASH ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, February 9. In tho Morrett enso, tho jury returned a verdict of "murder net proven, but accused guilty of forging cheques." Accused was sentenced to a year's imprisonment. Lord Alness, in summing up, pointed out that deceased's depositions were not taken with the precision desirable for a murder trial.
