A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETS. The General Committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association met yesterday afternoon, Mr J. 0. Coop presiding over an ittendance of 2-J members. Tho following were,, elected life members of the Association:—Misses M. M. and R. Little, Messrs J. R. Little, B. H. Little, E. G. Rutherford, and D. B. Clarkson. Messrs D. A. Fyfe and B. Hosking were elected annual members. March Oth was filed as the date for the closing of nomination* for tho committee. Tho New Zealand Showmen's Association wrote tLat the use of the motor-car amongst the farming community had enabled patrons of A. and P. Shows to reduco tho timo epent on the Show Grounds, and tho altered pnetice was seriously felt by side-showmen. Cooperation in tho matter of night shows was •ought.
The question was referred to tlie incoming committee. The secretary of tho Canterbury Chamber of Commerce wrote Baking the Association to nominate a member for a seat on the proposed Railway Advisory Board for Canterbury. Mr Coop was appointed. Permission was granted the Canterbury Merino Steepbreeders* Association to appoint inspectors for merino sheep to be offered at the Ram Fair. Advice was received from Mr H. E. Cook stating that he would guarantee to collect £IOO for the Association if twelve other members would each collect a similar amount.
