There is apparently nothing 100 reckless or t.vi dangerous f»r this actor to carry out. Tlii! story of an ■»!«■ professor's invention of n "death ray." the film presents a limine lioth new and attractive, anil throughout the entire showing the audience is held in suspense until a climax, clever and novel, is reached. The story is sufficiently new and exciting lu ensure it a high place anion;: the films of the present time, but together .with Talmadge's versatility in the performing of feats, it gains considerably in .staying power. The slory is romantic. and a hitherto unheard-of plot, that of the di'Mriu-liuu of tho American Heel, i.s introduced. The second attraction is ".Silk Stocking Sal." an rutin ly fresh comedy-drama. Starring the versatile comedienne Kvelyii Ureal, it is a remarkably clever production in which the directors have spared uo pains to create the necessary atmosphere. There is a very good nipportinj programme.
