ASSOCIATION MEETS.
A meeting of the North Beach and Waimairi Bui gases' Association wa« held in tho Memorial Hall, when Mr E. A. M. Leaver presided over ft good attendance. Tho chaiiman reported that the New Brighton Municipal Bind would pl»y ■» North Beach on Sunday, February 18th. It was decided to call for volunteers to take up a collection for tho atone wall fund. Mr N. Johanscn reported that the swings which ho had given for tho use of children on tho beach at North Beach wero at present in ueo in tio Rawhiti Domain at Main In rcniy to a. request for subscription* from the United Burgesses Association, it was decided to pay this year's subscription and to discus* the matter of cancelling affiliation at a later meeting. Complaint* were made by memberi regarding stock wandering at large on tho borough streets, and a numbor of minor complaints were also referred to «i» representatives on the Council. Tho chairman reported that the Council had purchased a section to link up Jubilee avenue with the Osborne terrace reserve, and eventually Berry, Fletnmmg, and Swann streets, and Osborne terrace. Strong exception was taken by member* to tho action of the polico in their strict enforcement of the regulations governing the sale of ice-cream at the seaside on Sundays. It was decided that a protest be made to tho Department of .luetics against th<) hardship imposed on vendors and the inconvenience to purchasers of ice-cream and uo't drinks on Sundays at seaside resorts. It was decided to hold tho annual meeting of the AsForiation in the Memorial Hall on February 28th.
