The search for cricketers to represent New Zealand on the tour to England lias been completed, and the result is to be made known to-morrow. The team will be accompanied by EH. Bowlev, the Sussex professional, as coach on'the voyage to England, the New Zealand Cricket Council paying the additional fare of £3O to permit of Bowlev travelling with the team instead of'his going by the route first intended. The selectors, Messrs W. S. Brice (Wellington 1. E. Williams (Otago ),nnd W. R. Patrick (Canterbury) had arranged to meet in Christchurch on Thursday, but on the suggestion of the Council they will meet to-morrow to select the team. Their choice of plnyers will be communicated to the New Zealand Council as soon as it is made, and it is expected thnt the announcement by the controlling body will be made to-morrow afternoon. Mr \V. S. Brice leaves for the south to-night, as also does Mr Dan Reese, chairman of the New Zealand Council, who has been visiting Wellington to-day. It was also stated by Mr Reese that the New Zealand team in England would have the services of the masseur who had attended to the Australians during their tour in England last season.

It is expected that the players to receive most consideration to-morrow will be Mills,/Dacro, Allcott, Gillespie, and Bowntrcc (Auckland), Kingston (Taranaki), Lowry and Worker (Hawke's Bay), Dempster (Wangonui), Page, Oliver, Cunningham, and Crawford (Canterbury), Blunt, Dickinson, and Aloo (Otago), and James, Kortlang, Bricc, McGirr, Henderson, llollings, and Badcoek (Wellington). Hiddleston, unfortunately, is not available.

The Melbourne Cricket Club team commenced a two-days' match against Waikato at Seddon l'urk this morning. Tho weather was ideal and the wicket good. There was nn attendance of 1000. , r The home side was disposed of after an hour and a half's play for 119 runs, Badelev ('J9)rCoing (-24), and Campbell (11) being the only batsmen to reach double figures. Dakin secured four wickets for i) runs for the visitors, who occupied tho wickets all the afternoon and had scared 395 puns for nine wickets at the drawing of stumps. The bowling had no real terrors for Warwick Armstrong, who lop-scorcd with 60 not out. Ho played many fine shots. Onyons played delightful cricket, getting his runs quickly. Ilodgerson « was another forcing batsman, though there was nn element of luck in his innings. *Rnnsford also played class cricket, and Sandford got his runs in short order by neat placing. BOYS' ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Canterbury Boys' Cricket Association was held on Monday evening at tho Technical College, Mr C. S. Johnston presiding over a fair nttendnnco of delegates.

On tho motion of tho chairman, seconded by Mr G. A. Holmes, tho annual report was adopted, whilst the hon. secretary's annual statement was adopted on tho motion of Mr A. H. Wilder, seconded by Mr C. It was decided that the 1927 compettion should commence on Saturday, February 19th. Mr C. T. Rix. in reporting to the meeting, stated that thero was a very good chance that a Christchurch cricket enthusiast would be presenting a shield for competition amongst "under fifteen" representative teams. Mr C. T. Rix gave notice to move thut Rule 49 be amended to read: "Time for starting shall be 2 p.m. (with 13 minutes' grace), and that stumps shall be drawn throughout the season In the Fifth Grade nt 6 p.m., and in the Sixth and Seventh Grades at 5.30 p.m." It was pointed out that it would be impossible for this new rule-to come into force for the present month, when the Fifth Grade matches must extend to G.no p.m. A special general meeting is to be caned during March to discuss the proposal. On the motion of the secretary, seconded by Mr C. J. Goldstone, it was derided h> send the following remit to the X«w Zial.'.nJ Cricket Council: "All boys playing In matche* for the New Zealand Boys' (under lfl) Challenge Shield shall be bona fide players in the competition ot the Boys' . Association or League which they are representing. Any boy who has played three' or more games in any grade other than those controlled by th» particular Boys' Association or League shall ba Ineligible to tako part ifl any Shield notches during the same reason." A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the secretary, Mr G. S. A. Biltcliff. for his work during the past season, and especially in connexion with the representative matches played during tho holidays. With regard to the Deckcnham Club's wicket, the delegate for that club said that arrangements had been mudo for watering and rolling the wicket, which should be in a better condition after this week. It wa« suggested that something be done in procuring capable umpires for .the various games. The clubs could be written to, asking them to send in the names of memI ois who would be willing to act in that rapacity. It whs decided that the matter be gone into.

Messrs Phillpot and Hillsdon were appointed umpires for the Woolston-Sunnysidc match on Saturday. CLUB SUSPENDED. Tlio chairman stated that the Morist Club hail been notified that they had made no endeavour to pay affiliation and registration fees this season. Also the amount for the wicket had not yet been paid. According to rule 11 of the Association, the club was liable to suspension for non-payment.

After a short discussion u motion was carried that the Marist Club be suspended. It was decided to write the Woolston Club, giving it seven days' notice within which to pay its lees.
