SIR HENRY BRETT.
THE PRIMATE'S TRIBUTE. [TfIE PBBBB Bpsdsl ntniet.} ' AUCKLAND, February 7. Feeling reference to the late Sir Henry Brett, and tributes to hi* services to Auckland, were made by Archbishop Averill at a memorial service at St. Mary's Cathedral last evening. "Wo are thanking God to-night for the life and service of Henry Brett,' tho Primate aaid, "and it is because 1 believe that his name may bo included in the category of the great as deQned by Our Lord that, I consider hia poising to the greater and wider life of service in paradise calls for more than a passing expression of regret* "There it no need for.me to dwell on the many and varied instances in his lona una honourable career. They are well known to most of us. It is well for us in Auckland to remember that we owe a debt of gratitude to him, not merely for what ne did, but for what he was. Whether we are eonscions of the fact or not, this city it all the richer for the ideals and character of Henry Brett."
