ADELAIDE MYSTERY.
MAN FOUND SUFFOCATED. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIOHT.) (AUSTRALIA* AKD N.I. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Beeeired Febrnary 7th, 10.55 p.m.) ADELAIDE, February 7. A man walked into a jeweller's shop and said he was acting on behalf of a man who was lying ill at an hotel. He made enquiries regarding the jewellery manager of the shop, John Robert Hiudmarsh, and took threo diamond rings valued at £OO ench. He motored to an hotel and went to a certain room. In the morning the maid opened the door at 9.80 to announce thnt breakfast was ready and observed a man in bed, apparently asleep. She did not wake him, but two hours later, on again going to the room, she saw the man in the same position. The police were called and it was round that the man in bed was dead. Ho proved to bo Hindmarsh. The police are of the opinion that he was enticed to the room, where he was bound and gagged, but tho assailants took too long over tho work, and Hindmarsh was suffocated. A young man is detained in connexion with tho matter.
