ANOTHER WARM DAY.
I BEACHES POPULAR. Although not so hot as Sunday, yesterday was a typical mid-summer's day. The day was dry and warm, but the heat was not to oppressive as it has been for the past few days, when the nor'westers ushered in the distressing conditions usually associated with that wind. There were, many full trams to the beaches, while vehicles of all descriptions eonveyed their quota of visitors to the bathing resorts. The absence of wind added to the pleasure of the heat at the beaches, and conditions were ideal for bathing. Kaiapoi, on Sunday, was one of the hottest places in the province, 90 degrees being registered in the shade. The temperature was slightly lower yesterday all over the province, and great advancement was made with the harvesting.
