POWER BOARD OFFICERS.
INSURANCE PROBLEM. (hiss usoeurioii ttLsoaiit.) PALMERSTON N., February 3. At a conference of Power Board secretaries at Pahnerston North, some time was devoted to a discussion on the comparative systems followed by the Boards in the matter of insurance. in view of the fact of the amount paid annually in this connexion amounting to a very large sum. The chairman. Mr Campbell, remarked tliat the Boards had a common interest in insurance in point of view of protection and cost, and therefore should satisfy themselves that they were acting on the right lines. The question arose; should a Board carrying any of its own insurance begin to set aside an annual sum to form<the nucleus of an insurance fundf The conference considered the Boards could secure a reduction of expenditure in this connexion by pooling their insurances and decided to recommend the.sut«»estion to the Power Board Association.
