TIMARU WOOL SALE.
HIGHER PRICES EXPECTED. At nine o'clock thin morning tho second wool sale to bo held thia season in Timaru will open in tho Theatre Royal. Boughly, tho catalogue- will be about 1000 bales shorter than tho quantity offered in February, 1928 .tho greater portion of tho clip has opened up >n very good condition, and keen competition is expected. Although prices were f'eiy firm when tho season opened in December, the market in other places has shown a slight rise. As a result to-day's sale will bo followed with .great interest. The- following catalogues will be offeredC.F.C.A., 4023 bales; Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., 4530 bales; N.M. and A. Co., Ltd., 4631; New Zealand Loan Co., Ltd., «1; Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., 3563. Total 17,177. The total offering at the February stile liiat year was 16,133, and of this 15,760 were toM. LINSEED. The Department of Agriculture has received tho following cablegram, dated February Ist, from Calcutta, with regard to ilie linseed market:—"Linseed: We quote i:if> 10s for linseed per ton net, e. and {., Sydney, for immediate shipment. The market is finn." TALLOW. A. H. Turnbull and Co. arc in receipt of the following cabled advice from London: "The tallow market is unchanged- A total of 1000 casks were offered, and 300 were sold. Th« market is slow." Dalgety and Company have received the llowing cabled advice from London:—Tal'■iw: At tho weekly auctions 3010 casks of Ullow were offered and 35 per cent. sold. Any change in prices is in favour of buyers. EGG AUCTION. The Canterbury Co-op. Poultry Producers. Ltd., held their weekly auction aalo of "Chain" brand eggs on Wednesday, February 2nd, at 2 o'clock.
