SUBURBAN GAMES. POSITIONS OF GRADES. The Suburban Match Committee met oa Tuesday night to consider the positions of tho various prndes in tho suburban interclub competitions. Thoy wore as follows: liradc A, Section I—i-ast round to be nluyed next Saturday, but Riccarton are the winners, being unbeaten, tirade A, section St. Paul's are to play North Beach on Saturday nest, and the winners to play off with Kircarton on February 12th. Grade u section 1: The seventh and tiii.il round to be plavcd next Saturday. Grade section 3 : T,l< ' M-v.-nth ontl final round to be plaved next Saturday. Tho winners of the match Bcekcnham v. Kit-carton vim this section, lirado l\ section -: The committee decided that the ninth round of this section be played next Saturday, instead of the eighth round as scheduled. This course will brine the two leading teams, Shirley aml St. Martini!, together, and will decide the winners of this section. The final match for grade 0 to be played on February 12th. Tho committee resolved that the annual suburban championship and handicap tournament should commence on February ijtith, and be continued on March l'Jth and 17th. All championship events will be tho best of three straight sets, the finals being advantage sets: all handicap events to bo 'J up. It was decided that a men's and ladies' handicap singles events be added to the programme, to he open to those competitors who do not enter for the championship singles events. On Sunday tho visitors wero tho guests of tho Cathedral Club at dinner, after which Mr Hay ward, the local president, extended a welcome to tho Timaru team. His Loirdship Bishop Brotlio also spolto stressing the Rood that would tcbull from such visits. Mr W. Minehan replied on bolialf of the visitors, thanking tho local team for their hospitality and extended nil invitation to tho Cathedral Club to p'av a return match at Timaru at Easter.
