THE BIG RACE.
TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH. It was thought on Saturday that the entries for the Timaru to Christchurch road race would not come up to expectations, but over the week-end there has been a regular flow of entries. There are competitors from Wellington, Westport, New Plymouth, Havelock, Wanganui, Greyuiouth, In('trcargill, Dunedin, and Kaikoura. The race will be one of the best interprovineial races that has been held. More entries are expected to-day, for they close at five to-night. 'The race is to be held on October 2nd.
