ELLESMERE LANDS DRAINAGE BOARD.

At the last meeting of the Ellemere Lands Drainage Board, there were present: Messrs It. M. Morten, H, J, Macartney, P. Millar, F. Hubbard, J. Sharp, and H. Pickering. Mr Miller reported that a« the result of enquiries, it seemed that sufficient teams would bo available for tlia purpose of letting out Lake ElTesmere when *.he water ia at sufficient height. The - clerk reported that the water was 2ft lin, representing a rise of 7in for the past month, and that the late of rise is very moderate for the eeason of the year. A ratepayer forwarded an account for the cost of repairing his electric service wires, as the result of tree 3 growing on the river-bank having blown across them. It was decided that no responsibility could be accepted in the matter. _ The Elthi'm Drainage Board advised that a conference of Drainage Board delegates vould be held at Wellington on July 13th, tho chairman and clerk were appointed, to attend.
