WALTHAM SCHOOL.
At the monthly meeting of the Waltham School Committee, those pre- j sent were Messrs A. 1 Turner (chairman), A. Blackler, W. Schumacher, H. Palmer, H. Watts,..'W. 1 PegU)y, A. Simmbnds,. W". Symons (secretary); and' C Boiirko (beadmaster). Tho Education Board wrote - .agreeing to instal an extra stove in' St>d. •IV. room, and for the provision of a wooden dado on.south wall. The 'headmaster reported number' on roll 620, average for month 554. An application for a heater for the infants' porch was'held over, several me' _ -3 condemning the use of the porch ring tho winter months. It was decided to apply for alterations to the present library to enable Std. V. pupils to enter their roorri without-passing through another class room. Selection for tho Queen Carnival resulted as follows : Std. VI., Grace' Mortimer;. Std. V., Dorothea Cowan; Std. IV.,- Kathleen Simmonds; Std. 111., Thelma Watts; Std. 11., Ngaire Guiness; Std. 1., Molly Houghton. Judging by ..the interest taken by. the selected -qiieeirs,' a. very successful' function" will eventuate. -Tho visiting committee reported everything in a fair order, with the exception of the heating apparatus, which-will bo rectified immediately. Accounts amounting to £7 19s Od were passed for payment.
