M'LEAN INSTITUTE.
The Board of Governors of the McLean Institute met yesterday afternoon. Present:—The Mayor, Mr J. K. Archer (chairman), Bishop WestWatson, Bishop Brodie, Rev. W. A. Hay, Rev. N. L. Webster Messrs Geo. Harper, H. D. Acland, H. J. Otley, H Y. Widdowson, S.M., and Mesdames W* S Bean and J. H. Wilson. The reports of the Finance and Institutions Committees were adopted. The secretary (Mr W. F Hilson) announced that the term of office as members of the Board of Mrs bean and Mr G. A. O. Tapper would expire on the 23rd inst. .' ~. f Mr Harper said that in view of Mr Tapper's resignation as manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Christchurch, he (Mr Harper) had get tiie opinion of Mr H. Cottenll, solicitor to the Board, as to whether Mr/agper was eligible for re-election. Mr C<tterill's opinion was that he was eligible at the proper time. Mr Acland gave notice of motion for the Board's next meeting:- iUt Mrs W. S. Bean and Mr G. L 11. Tapper be re-elected members of the Board." _
