SPIRITUALISM.
TO THE EDITOR 01 THE TKESS. Sir,—The latter over tho signature "Common Sense," showed*such colossal ignorance that I thought it not worth noticing, yet for tho sake of others who have a., little more sense and a little less assurance I may say that.darkness, or the absence of white light, is necessary for- the development of many other. thing 3 besides the alleged • tricks of mediums. I am not going to maintain that the various phenomena of our seance rooms, even, including the simple A3.C of table tilting, are not specific calls to arrest our attention in _ these modern days, the same as the miracles gained a hearing for Christianity in Judea. Great is .the power of suggestion working through advertising, so this "trickery for notoriety" may be the spirit world's advertising effort appealing to the spiritually blind , and deaf.—Yours, etc., PETER TROLOYE. St. Andrew's Hill, June 18th, 1926. TO THE EDITOR 0T THR FBBBS. Sir,—lf a meeting is to be held for the purpose of exposing the trickery of Spiritualism, I think.Peter Trolove. should keep away from it, as he 6ays: "I hope a sufficient number of decent folk will be collected to. gather round and make a circle." His remarks are somewhat vague regarding 'some or the Churches starting an organised campagin against Spiritualism, and that the Devil is at the back'of this widely spreading movement." How does he know that the Devil is at the back of it? Does he wish to intimate that he has been communicating with the Devil and that he has received the information first-hand from his Satanic Majesty?" I, with others, have often tried the'"table rapping," "tables moving," and other, Spiritualistio bricks, but have never been, able to draw the , non-alcoholio spirits.— Yours, etc., • „ OHUEGHMAN.
