STUDENTS' REVUE. Christcliurck audiences will have an opportunity of witnessing something out of the ordinary in the way of musical extravaganza with the performance of the' students' revue, "The Dogs." which is booked '. for a season of four nights at the Choral Hall, beginning "Wednesday, May 12th, and continuing Thursday, Friday,, and Saturday. The production' is one of the moat ambitious yet attempted by the students, including as it does a wealth of witty dialogue, catchy choruses, and charming solo and" ballet dances Tho • plot, or what there is of it, is eminently original. The well-known seaport town; of Lyttelton has been chosen for tho opening scene, and from there tho scene shifts to palm groves and Hulu maidens in a tropical South Seas isle. ■ The major part, that ot tho burly pirate captain, is' entrusted' to Mr W. B. Harris, who will be remembered for his part in'past students' revues. Miss N«ta Billcliff plaj3 the part of Nancy, the charming young maiden who wins the hearts cf all the "tars." Mr S. A. Coopor will bo seen in the part of the boatswain, while Mr J. K. Lester in a burlesque «f the matron, has ample scope for undoubted talent. McTombs, M.P. will be represented by Mr A. W. Mackay, while Messrs H. C. Collett, T. Archer, L. C. Stephens, 11. M. and E. J. Kelly all enter well into their various parts. T°he ballets are unusually comprehensive, having been"specially trained by Miss' Anne Audibert, late of the J. C. Williamson Company. Tho soloists in this section will be Mißses Gwen Bowring and Joan Sorenson, while Miss Tai Ngata will stage a special Maori ballet. Extensive alterations are being carried out b,y the management to the Choral Hall, which will be completely transformed. It will- be ..named the. "Little Theatre" for .the .occasion. Evenattention is being paid to the comfort of patrons. Mr C. Eendleis this year's producer; while Mr F. Petre is his assistant. Mr L. It. ?almer is the business manager.
