PIGEON FLYING.
CANTERBURY CLUB. The Canterbury Homing Pigeon Flying Club flow their final young bird race of the season from Blenheim recently. Ninety-eight birds, repi renting 10 owners, competed. The birds wero liberated by Mr J. If. Morrison at 1C a.m., in calili weather, which enabled the birds to register good velocities The winning bird, Grand Knight, tho property of A. Jones, flew the distance- of 160 fliiteß 1-150 yards ill the time, of i hours 18 minutes 51 seconds. The following are the results: Yds per min. A. Jones's Grand Knight .. 1093 A. Hisgs's Kelly .. .. Jones holds for one year the Ihkson challenge- trophy. L. "Wilshirc wins the blue ribbon kindly presented by Mr G. McDougall for the highest aggregate in young bird race. A. Jones wins the special nominated bird prizes.
