PARISH MEETINGS.

CASH-MERE HILLS. The annual meeting of parishioners of Cashmere JUIls was held at SI. Augustine's schoolroom, the Vicar, the liev. A. IT. Xorris, presiding. The Rev. I-'. 11. Inwood, honorary assistant priest, the churchwardens, Mr E. G. Hogg, and Major Borrow, and 32 other parishioners-, were present. .Encouraging reports were submitted by the vicar and leaders of the several organisations in the parish. The churchwardens' report and statement of accounts showed total receipts for the year .£B9? :is 7d. with a credit balance of .£7 IGs lid. ; The total amount e.tpendod for extra paro- ! chial purposes, foreign missions, home mission, St. Saviour'* Orphanage, etc., had been i'-JJ-l 17s lOd, an increase of £.13 !)a •Jd over last year's total. The amount expended for parochial purposes, was £s6j 10s i)d. The liabilities on account of church and ■adioolronm loan, Beckenham loan, and vicarage loan, amounted to A' 1392 os. The meeting expressed hearty thanks to flic wardens and vestry, Sunday School teachers, and conductors of Bible Classes, Women's Guild, choirmaster, organist, and _ choir members, business manager, and distributors of the Parish Magazine, and the Cashmere Girls' Club. The following church officers were elected: Vicar's warden. Mr li. G. Hogg: vestry. Miss Walker. Mrs Stocks. Mr J. Craeroft Wilson. Major lierrow, Messrs It. A. .Papprill, i'Ladd. A. .). After the business meeting a short musical programme was given by Misses Dorothy Andrews and .full, and Messrs 11. Gill and 11. A. Brickell. arid supper was dispensed by the Women's Guild. ST. MARTIN'S, SPREYDON. The anr.tal meetim; cf St. Martin's parishioners took place in ilie schoolroom and was largely attended in spite of a wet night. The vicar piesided. The .balance-sheet 'was very satisfactory. ST. JAMES'S,, SOUTHBRIDGE. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. James's' Church, Southbridge, was lield on Thursday evening, the Rsv.'H. 0. Hawkins presiding. A resolution of'condolence was carried with the family of lho late Mr William Inwocd, who had been connected with the church for 1 ever 50 years', and had been present at the first service heid in the church. Mr \V. E. Leadley, organiser of the Jim-sea" Chapel Fund, acknowledged with thanks the sum of £7 K's, forwarded from the Southbridge parochial district. The wardens, Messrs A. J. Inwood and A. Greenwood, presented a report on the finances, which were stated not to be in ti satisfactory condition. The- year had begun with a deficit of £G IGs 9d, and finished with a greatly increased debit balance of £57 13s Bd. General offertories Bhowed an increase of 13s over the previous year. Subscriptions to stipend had increased by about £lO over the previews year, but «t-:ll fell abort, by £-15 of the guaranteed auio.mt. Inwocd was nominated for re-election as people's warden, but declined to accept the office for hea'th reasons. The vicar nominated Mr H. B. B. Willis as vicar's warden, and Mr .T. S. Mary's was held in the supper room ot the Halswell Hall and was well attended. | The vicar, the Rev. C. C. Oldham, presided. Host of the repairs fund is to bo used to strength it, so that it may last many more years. Gardiner (vestrymen). ST. MARY'S, MERIVALE. About 120 people attended the annual parish meeting of St. Mary's Church, Meriva;c last nighty The animal report showed a credit balance of i'S! (is. The total of the parochial fund was £ll lis (3d lower than last year, the number of subscribers to the fund being lower also. Ii was very satisfactory to note that the church was contributing freely to objects outside the parish itself. He wished to thank the numerous church workers for their help. He was confident that the money for the new church would he subscribed, and he hoped that the new church would have a window as a memorial of those who fell in the war. Mrs Roberts addreasrd the parishioners on tho subject of the Mothers' 'Union, and the IJcv. F. 13. Redgrave spoke on mission work.
