9 » '■ CHRISTCIIURCH CLUB. At a meeting of the Chnfitclmrch Amateur Boxing Club's committee on Friday, the chairman, Mr A. R. Kirk, said that the legal status of the new committee was sot known, and until the whole legal side had been cleared up it was impossible for the Christchurch Amateur Club to take any action. I He could not accept any suggestion that ! the committee, which had undertaken to fight for the severance of the amateur side of the sport from the professional control, could, at this stage of the procedure, suspend operations, especially by joining in with the new Christchuvch Sports Club. Eventually it was agreed that, as no ofcial statement had been received, no action could be taken, hut the club should continue to press for the severance of the amature side of the sport from the professional control. Scott appeared to play with him when he could have knocked him out. McCormick failed to get in a single blow with any power, whilo Scott, after the eighth round, punished his opponent. McCormick was obviously weak at the end of the ninth rouud. Scott forced the pace ut the tenth round and scored freely with leftb and rights to the head, hard. A right, midway through the round staggered McCormock, who was almost down when his seconds threw in the towel.
