IN THE MATTER OF "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1920," AND "THE LOCAL BODIES LOANS ACT," 1913, AND ALL ACTS AMENDING THE SAME RESPECTIVELY.

WHEREAS by resolution dated the 29th day of March, 1926, the Christchurch City Council defined the Boundaries of a Specjal Eating Area to be known by s distinctive name, viz., "Phillipstown Playground Special Bating Area" the boundaries whereof are set forth in an advertisement appearing in "The Press" newspaper of the 17th day of April, 1926, and are shown on the map thereof deposited for inspection at the Municipal Office, 191 Manchester street, Christchurch. AND WHEREAS the Christchurch City Council desires to obtain the consent of the ratepayers of that part of the City of Christchurch contained in the said Phillipstown Playground Special Rating Area to the raising of a Special Loan of Fifteen Hundred Pounds (£1500). NOW, therefore, it is hereby publicly notified as follows: *

(4)_ The particular purpose for which the loan is required is for the purchase of land and buildings as follows: Sections, House, and She'd, in St. Asaph street, on Part Lot 40 deposit plan 38, Part Rural Section 69 containing 1 rood 20 perches and situate at the corner of Phillip and St. Asaph streets for use as a pleasure ground and for the laying out the whole area and the equipment of a children's playground thereon. The demolition or removal of all or any of the buildings erected thereon and all Incicidental expenses in connection with the proposal. (b) The snm proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is Fifteen Hundred Pounds (£1500). (c) The proposed security for Fueh proposed loan and for providing the interest and sinking fund in respect thereof is a special rate of four hundred and fifty-nine six hundred and twenty fifths of a penny (459-625 d) in the pound upon the rateable value (being j the unimproved value) of all rateable property I comprised within the said Phillipstown Play- . ground Special Rating Area. (d) The said loan shall have a currency of 1 thirty-six and a half years, and shall bear i interest in the. meantime at a rate not exceeding six pounds per centum per annum, payable half-yearly and the provision for repayment Is that the whole loan shall at the end of its period be repayable by .means of the sinking fund. (o) It is not proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan, nor the preliminary expenses, other than the purchasing and other expenses to be incurrod in connection with the scheme for which the loan u proposed to be raised nor the interest or Sinking fund for the first year.
