SUDDEN DEATH.

The death is announced of Sir Timothy CogWari, Agent-General for New South Wales. He met' the New South Wales Ministers, Mr W. P. Dunn, Minister: for Agriculture, and Mr E. A. MeTiernan, Attorney-General, and es-corted*-them to their hotel. Sir Timothy complained of feeling .unwell, went home, and died in a few minutes. [Sir, Timothy Coghlan, Kt., K.C.M.G., 1.5.0., was born in 1857 and educated at Sydney Grammar School. After being assistant-engineer of harbours and rivers', he became Government" Statistician for New South Wales, holding various other appointments. He was Agent-General for New . South Wales from 1903 to 1917. He visited Australia, in 1919, and after his return to London became Acting-Agent-General,. subsequently being permanently appointed for a further term. He is the, author of several books concerning New South Wales, and also published "The Seven: Colonies of Australasia" and "Decline in the Birthrate of Australia.and New Zealand."] - NEWSPAPER TRIBUTE. The newspapers pay tribute to his world-wide celebrity as a- statistician," tconomiat, and writer. Ho is said to have ,achieved a. record among Australian Agents-General in the-amount of loan : money which, he- floated for his State.
