Miss Caroline Tliaekeray died at Zanzibar on January 30, at the age_ of years. Miss Thackeray, who was a cousin of William Makepeace 'lhackcraj, ar.il eldest daughter of the K ev - eor % e Thackeray, joined the Mission in lS7f, and retired '2O years ago. She continued to live at Zanzibar, however. A wireless installation has been fitted in_ Doncaster workhouse at a cost of £*ti, towards which the officials have contributed £43, the proceeds of social events. Hradford's policemen have formed a special dancing class at a dancing academy where they gather every Wednesday. All ranks participate, from constables to inspectors, and even superintendents.
