NEW DIOCESE OF WAIKATO.
* (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGHAM.) HAMILTON, April 27. At the inauguration of the Waikato Synod, comprising clergy and laity of the. Cliurch\of England in the Waikato and Taranaki districts, to-day, there was a full attendance of members. Prior to going into camera to consider nominations of a Bishop, the Primate's certificate authorising the new diocese was read. The Archbishop's Commissary, Archdeacon Mac Murray, who presided, enjoined the Synod to preserve the utmost secrecy regarding the election of a Bishop, until a selection had been made, and the office accepted.
